This was our first project of the year. We used watercolors on hard press paper and then sharpies for the letters. We had to choose analogous colors (colors next to each other on the color wheel) and paint them using a grid. I had used watercolors when I was younger but never on hard press paper. Actually I didn't know there was such things as hard press watercolor paper... It took a little getting used to because the paint sort of sits on top of the paper. It was interesting to work with them and figure out how to get them the way I wanted them. To make the border around the painting we used masking tape. When I was pulling mine off some of the paper came with it. I was a little disappointed but I just used a wet brush to spread the paint already on the paper over to the fix where the paint was pulled off. You couldn't even tell!
